Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have been counselling for over 17 years and offer therapy to adults, couples, young people and children. Although most of the counselling that I do is straightforward ‘talking therapy’ sometimes clients benefit from working with creative tools which help them to express thoughts and feelings that are difficult to talk about openly.

As well as working with individuals, I work with couples and also with children and parents when there are family difficulties. These can be very distressing times for everyone and children and young people are often deeply affected by family problems particularly separation and divorce, the death of a relative or domestic abuse. They are frequently unprepared to cope with the issues of loss, feelings of abandonment and anger that can accompany these events.

I enjoy the challenge of supervision and aim to make it supportive, thought provoking  and creative. My approach is Integrative and Psychodynamic. I supervise qualified counsellors, student counsellors in training and other professionals - a number of whom work with children and young people - and I also supervise groups for a Counselling Service.
