‘Relationship or the interconnectedness between two people has been significant in all healing since Hippocrates’

– Petruska Clarkson

When we are connected to others in an open and trusting relationship we feel valued and understood, so the relationship that I establish with my clients is key to the work we can do together.

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means that I use a variety of therapeutic approaches that can be adapted to meet your individual needs and situation. My work is generally with adults, young people and children and my experience has been gained by working in a range of settings including a GP practice, a further education college and a special needs school. Being a mother of three children has been particularly helpful in fostering an understanding of children and young people and the dynamics that develop in families.

I also teach ‘Mother and Baby Bonding Skills’ in Uganda and Kenya and am a consultant for a mental health award in Romania.

I’ve been involved with a local counselling service as part of a team that implemented new ideas which led to change and the restructuring of the therapeutic services provided.
